How to Make a Reservation

Getting Here

  • We are located just 0.6 miles from the Appalachian Trail at Dicks Creek Gap (off mile marker 69.2 NOBO). Walk-ins are welcome! If hiking northbound, turn left/head west when you get to the road crossing and parking area at Dicks Creek Gap, and we are 0.6 miles down on the right (the first driveway you'll see).  Free shuttles are available to and from the trailhead for hostel and outfitter guests (text 706-389-9668 with ETA for pickup 1 mile out from Dicks Creek Gap).

  • We run scheduled shuttles upon request to and from Unicoi Gap (text 706-389-9668 with ETA for pickup the morning of check in).

  • If driving in, search for "Hostel Around the Bend" in maps program (do not type in our address). Parking directly in front of the hostel is first come, first served. There is an overflow/long-term gravel parking area on-site at the bottom of the property.

Checking In

  • Check-in time is from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

  • Early arrivals before 3:00 pm are welcome! Guests may relax in common areas, grab a shower, or get a head start on laundry while we get their room ready.

  • Cut-off check-in time for shared accommodations (bunks) is no later than 8:00 pm out of respect for other guests. If your expected arrival time will be after 8:00 pm, please reserve a private room and notify us of your arrival time, and we will provide self-check-in instructions.

* If you need to make any changes to your reservation,

please call the hostel at 706-389-9668 and speak to hostel staff directly

(we do not accept requests to change reservations via email). *
